Ring of Aconcagua

Aconcagua with its 22.841 f. and the highest peak in South America had become one of the most important goals in climbing . To help all those fearless sportsmen to make their dream come true we put our experience at your disposal to challenge this outstanding mountain.


Day 1 MENDOZA: Welcome. We’ll receive you at Francisco Gabrielli Airport or at the bus-station, and then take you to your hotel. Later, we’ll check the personal equipment. Afterwards we will have a welcome Dinner in a typical Argentinean restaurant.

Day 2 MENDOZA / PENITENTES: At 8:30 in the morning, we’ll take you from your hotel to the Natural Resource Office to get Climbing Permission (this will be the responsibility of each climber). After that we leave for Penitentes. Lodging in hotel or apartment. Organization of gear and distribution of weight. Dinner.

Day 3 PENITENTES / PAMPA DE LEÑAS: After breakfast we’ll send our heavy equipment in mules. Then, we will continue to the Quebrada de Vacas, last transitable place. We will continue slowly until Pampa de Leñas, where we’ll camp. Dinner.

Day 4 PAMPA DE LEÑAS / PIEDRA GRANDE: Breakfast. We will continue slowly until Piedra Grande, where we’ll camp. Dinner.

Day 5 PIEDRA GRANDE / PLAZA ARGENTINA: Breakfast and after leaving the camp, we’ll hike to Plaza Argentina (4.300 mts.). When arriving we’ll construct our base camp. Dinner.

Day 6 PLAZA ARGENTINA: Free day to rest. Full board.

Day 7 PLAZA ARGENTINA: Free day to rest or carry supplies. Full board.

Day 8 PLAZA ARGENTINA: Free day to rest or carry supplies. Full board.

Day 9 PLAZA ARGENTINA / 1st. CAMP: Breakfast, we’ll start climb and will take the first night in 1st. Camp at 4.800 mts high. We wi’ll make high camp. Dinner.

Day 10 1st. CAMP / 2nd. CAMP: Breakfast. Continue slowly to 2nd. Camp (5.400 mts.), on the way we will be able to see almost the whole route that we’ll take in the following days. Setting up camp.

Day 11 2nd. CAMP / BERLIN (or PLAZA COLERA): Taking into account accommodation availability in Berlin, the climber’s physical condition and the weather, we’ll stop in this camp located between 5.900 and 6.000 mts. high.

Day 12 BERLIN / SUMMIT / BERLIN: The BIG DAY has come! we wi’ll leave the camp early in the morning and make good time to conquest our objective, the ACONCAGUA SUMMIT. The time table to arrive at the summit is at 1 p.m. Then we’ll return to Berlin.

Day 13 BERLIN / PLAZA DE MULAS: Breakfast. Return to Plaza de Mulas, where we’ll be able to enjoy a relaxing bath and then we’ll organize our gear to descend next day until Puente del Inca.

Day 14 PLAZA DE MULAS / PENITENTES: Breakfast, then we’ll make our last effort. Our transportation will receive us in the Laguna de Horcones. Lodging and dinner.

Day 15 PENITENTES / MENDOZA: After breakfast, we’ll return to Mendoza. Lodging and farewell dinner.

Day 16 MENDOZA: Transfer to the Airport or bus-station. Farewell, until the next challenge.

NOTE: Two extra days are considered in case of climatic changes.
